I used the website "Tweetchat" to help me engage in the twitter chat I chose to participate in.
The website to be visited to find out more information on the source of the twitter chat I joined is:
The host of the Twitter chat I joined was Jennifer Baadsgaard. I think she did a fantastic job facilitating this Twitter chat. Here is the link to her twitter:
The hashtag used for the twitter chat was #txeduchat. The topic was "Can a Supervisor be a Coach?" First she had everyone introduce themselves and provide a favorite quote about leadership. I loved this because this was a way to get a general idea of who all was in the chat and everyone's backgrounds. I love knowing someones background because I believe it helps me understand more of what they are saying. Jennifer acknowledged everyone who joined the twitter chat and went through a series of questions for us to answer. The favorite question was "can you separate the dance from the dancer?" "Is the supervisor the coach or the dancer?" My reply was "the supervisor is the coach. The teacher and her students are the dance. Every dance will be different." Another question that I loved a person's response was "Define coach vs mentor vs supervisor." Someone replied coach=guide, mentor=model, supervisor=manage. I found that this was the most simple, yet explainable answer there could be. That question was tricky and to try and differentiate those positions was challenging. I loved this assignment and I found it really useful to get together with people who are in the education field share their insight on a certain topic.
